MATCHING OF DELEGATES AND
UN MEMBER STATES

After the Rotary Club’s MUNA Committee has drafted the four resolutions, it will select countries to move and second the motion on the floor of the Assembly. An additional list of countries will be prepared to speak for or against the resolution in an attempt to bring forth the varying perspectives of countries on the issue under discussion. Delegations will then be assigned to this list in the order in which their applications are accepted.

Each delegation and its counsellor will then be advised of the assignment so that preliminary reading and study about that country may begin. It is not possible to respond to appeals from delegations, therefore the assignment must remain as the MUNA Committee determines.

The assignment of delegations to strange and unfamiliar countries is one of the notable educational features of MUNA. It enables student delegates to cultivate knowledge and insight into the lives and activities of other countries and people around our world.
